Surface flux data products (that use relative wind speed in the calculation) are currently not being produced when surface current data from the collocated VELPT are not available. A fix is in progress.

Deployment 1: The wind sensor was damaged (bent) at deployment, and was missing at recovery.

Deployment 1: Precipitation data are suspect. At recovery, relative humidity was lower than the ship's sensors and the deployment 2 METBK sensors by 3-5%.

Upon recovery of deployment 2, damage to some components of the surface buoy were noted (e.g., FDCHP was bent, the tops of the METBK-PRC and FleetBroadBand antenna were missing).

Deployment 2: Wind speeds may be low-biased (5%) at speeds > 5 m/s, as determined by comparisons with ship measurements and measurements from the FDCHP. Precipitation data are also suspect.

Downwelling Shortwave Irradiance (shortwave_irradiance) and Net Shortwave Irradiance (met_netsirr) minimum night time values jump from ~0 W m-2 to ~13-14 W m-2 and remain there through the rest of the deployment. The SWR sensor did not appear to have any noticeable damage upon recovery. The WHOI instrument calibration lab is investigating (Redmine 12543)

Deployment 3: In the beginning of the deployment, the conductivity and salinity measured by the two met sensors were offset by ~0.01 S m-1 and ~0.1 psu, respectively (SBD12 was lower). The offset decreased over time, and gradually switched to SBD12 values being slightly higher (around Nov 2017). There was also a LWR (longwave radiation) offset of ~5 W m-2.

Deployment 3: Recovery of the mooring was planned during the NBP 17-09 cruise (Nov - Dec 2017) but not completed due to adverse weather conditions. Recovery options are pending. Instruments that are still operational are likely reaching (or have surpassed) their deployment lifespan.
